I silos, strutture industriali realizzate in cemento armato, acciaio, lamiere zincate o vetroresina, sono costantemente esposti ad azioni atmosferiche (intemperie, troppo caldo, troppo freddo) e chimiche, che possono provocare fenomeni di deterioramento e corrosione, quali alterazioni superficiali, ruggine e distacchi.
